About us

Riviera Rebels is a friendly, laid back group of people who get together once a week for an evening of line dancing. Although there are lots of basic steps that appear in most dances, there's also plenty of variety with the dances and the music - from traditional country & western style, through Irish to rock 'n roll music - Elvis and beyond!?...

It became an official Association in January 2008 but the Club has its roots sometime back at the end of the last millennium (actual dates shrouded in the mists of time) when Dave, then also Allison started teaching from a private house in Mougins. When one night they all arrived to find the place locked up and the owner nowhere to be found, they decided it was about time to find a more reliable venue. After a quick word with the Headmaster of the Mougins School, it was agreed that the group could use the main hall there on Tuesday evenings. They've been dancing there ever since...

Allison and Dave moved back to the UK in 2011. Myrande took over for a while and as from January 2014 we have our new teacher Brigitte.

Things have obviously changed - lessons are now in French but our members are still either English or French speaking....if you get a bit stuck in whichever language - no worries, there will always be someone to help out.......In fact you can also use the dance lessons to practise whichever might be your weaker language.......so there are several benefits - keeping fit whilst having fun, engaging some brain work AND improving your language skills......!!

Look forward to seeing you soon!
